In the spring of 2024, a new chapter began for Schenectady as they introduced their inaugural flag football team, joining the ranks of the Suburban Council under Section 2 of the NYSPHSAA. For the young female student-athletes, it was more than just a game; it was a chance to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and grow something new while being part of history. 

We are looking forward to introducing junior varsity in 2026 and are excited about developing an offseason program and youth clinics. Our goal is to grow this game with our community, league partners, and future student-athletes. 

The players were excited to build on their experience and foster a tradition that would inspire future generations. The inaugural season of Schenectady flag football was more than just a series of games. It ignited a passion for the sport, united the youth, and brought the community together in ways that would be felt for years to come.
